Document revision: 2026-10-27.1. This is a documentation revision, not a new hardware version. Physical sample testing has not been performed for this release. Test dates, sample serial numbers, operators and independent approval are not available. Values copied from product specifications are declared specifications, not measured results.

What evidence is available?

We publish product specifications, listed purchase options and proposed measurement procedures separately. We do not currently have signed raw measurements for grinder retention, oil mass per spray or comparative bread freshness. No numerical test results or completed sample trials are presented on these pages.

Grinder retention method — GR-RET-01 v1.0

Proposed procedure, issued 27 October 2026. No test run has been completed. This method distinguishes dose mass balance from grounds physically remaining inside a grinder. A dose-output difference alone cannot establish coffee exchange or total internal retention.

  1. Identify the model, hardware revision, serial number, burr maker/model/diameter, carrier or adapter, burr alignment, seasoning, grind setting, RPM and power supply. Photograph the configuration. Do not compare different burrs or grind settings as if they were the same test.
  2. Record coffee origin/lot, roast level and roast date, dose, room temperature and relative humidity, scale make/ID, resolution, calibration check and uncertainty. For a 0.1 g claim, select a scale with resolution and uncertainty adequate to distinguish that threshold; a fine display alone is not proof of accuracy.
  3. Proposed initial design: three separately identified grinder units, ten recorded doses per unit and configuration, using a predeclared dose and workflow. These are planned sample sizes, not completed sample counts. Keep espresso and filter settings separate.
  4. With the grinder powered off and unplugged, start from a documented clean, dry state. Weigh the input coffee, collection cup and any spill catcher. Run the declared grinding cycle. Record grinding duration and the exact bellows/purge actions. Weigh output, external spills and separately collected purge grounds. Do not silently discard a warm-up run.
  5. Record signed mass balance as input minus output minus separately captured external loss. Keep negative values and flag uncertainty; do not replace them with zero. Report whether purge grounds are included in output.
  6. For a physical clean-out result, disconnect power and follow the model's approved service instructions. Collect removable grounds into a tared container and weigh them separately. Document inaccessible areas and recovery losses. Mass balance, clean-out mass and exchange retention are different endpoints; do not label one as another.
  7. Publish every raw row, valid sample count, exclusions with reasons, mean, spread, range and measurement uncertainty. Include photographs or continuous footage linked to the sample ID, the test date, named operator and reviewer. A single best run cannot establish a universal ≤0.1 g guarantee.

How a measurement becomes a publishable claim

Attach original records and an operator/reviewer sign-off before changing a status from “not tested”. Show the measured configuration, date and sample count next to any result. Preserve the earlier document revision and explain corrections. A product listing, customer quotation or generic research paper is not a substitute for testing this exact product.
