FAQ
How do I adjust the grinding fineness on the YEH-120L?
The YEH-120L features an ultra-precise stepless adjustment dial.
Turn the dial clockwise (toward the right) for a coarser grind (e.g., Pour-over, Cold Brew).
Turn the dial counter-clockwise (toward the left) for a finer grind (e.g., Espresso, Turkish coffee).
Note: Please ensure the motor is running when adjusting to a finer setting if there are beans inside the grinding chamber, to prevent the burrs from locking.
How often should I clean the grinder?
A full deep clean is recommended every 15 days. Unplug first, detach the powder spout and hopper, unscrew the 4 top bolts with the included hex key, and lift the upper section to expose the burrs. Clean with the included brush or a small vacuum. Wipe mating surfaces before reassembling.
Does the grinder require calibration after I take it apart for cleaning?
No. Thanks to our patented quick-leveling and independent spindle design, the grinder automatically snaps back into its factory micron-level alignment upon reassembly. You only need to remove 3 screws to detach the components for cleaning, and once reassembled, the zero point and alignment remain perfectly locked—no tedious manual calibration required.
What should I do if the grinder suddenly stops or the motor jams (Burr Lock)?
If the grinder stops due to extra-hard beans or an overly fine setting:
Immediately turn off the power switch and unplug the machine.
Turn the adjustment dial clockwise to a coarser setting.
Plug it back in, turn it on, and let the motor clear the remaining grounds.
If it remains jammed, follow the manual instructions to safely remove the upper burr carrier and clear the blockage.
How do I properly clean and maintain the grinder?
Daily Cleaning: Use the included press-to-blow bean hopper (bellows) at the end of your grinding cycle to purge any residual loose grounds. Clean the powder chute with the provided brush.
Deep Cleaning: Detach the upper burr carrier by removing the 3 quick-release screws. Use a brush or dry cloth to clean the burrs and grinding chamber.
CRITICAL SAFETY NOTE: Never wash any part of the grinder body, chamber, or burrs with water. Water will damage the precision bearings, rust the steel components, and pose a severe electrical hazard.
Is the YEH-120L compatible with third-party burrs?
Yes. The YEH-120L is engineered with a highly versatile carrier that natively supports standard 120mm flat burrs, including both blind burrs (screwless surface) and traditional screw-hole configurations (such as standard Lebrew 120, SSP 120HU, or SSP 120LS).
Why is there a slight static cling or flying chaff, and how can I fix it?
Although the grinder features built-in anti-static engineering, ambient humidity and bean roast levels can still cause static. We highly recommend using the RDT (Ross Droplet Technique): slightly misting your coffee beans with a single drop of water or using a damp stir stick before grinding will completely eliminate static and flying chaff.
Can I use this grinder for commercial environments?
Absolutely. Powered by a heavy-duty 2000W high-torque servo motor with an independent industrial-grade spindle, the YEH-120L is fully capable of handling continuous commercial workflows in specialty coffee shops, labs, and roasting facilities.
